Hi, how are you?

Welcome at Lamberts Assistance.

I am Robert, an Expat Assistant.

Let me explain a bit about who I am, what I do and why.

I am a 28 year old native Dutch, born in Almere and grew up in the Amsterdam region. Around 5 years ago I moved to The Hague, where I studied and worked. Now my girlfriend and I are living in the suburbs of Rotterdam.

My interests are dancing, music, ICT, cars and logistics, but my real passion is helping people. Through the years, I have found myself at my happiest and at my best when helping (international) friends and families in finding their ways, sorting things out and getting things done, especially in the context of settling in The Netherlands.

Being a native Dutch it won’t be much of a surprise my mother-tongue is Dutch. Next to that I am also fluent in English (I speak it every day for both private and work), I speak some German, understand some French and my Hong Kong Chinese family-in-laws are slowly teaching me Cantonese Chinese.

At moments that my friends or family don’t have full understanding of Dutch (company) cultures and living environment or they come across the language-barrier because they don’t speak Dutch, we’ll find out together what needs to be done. Finding out things together is fun.

Let’s face it

The Dutch are different, despite they are famous of being direct, sometimes how people and organisations work is not that straight-forward. Even as a native Dutch, one also need to find his/her way through the processes of organisations such as the Belastingdienst (tax office), banks, telephone/internet providers, health insurances or housing agencies, just to name a few.

How can I help you?

Whether you have can’t find your way around the Dutch landscape or come across the language barrier, drop me an e-mail to find out how I can help you!
